BoA Mtv live NYC

On December 3, 2008, BoA will be performing at the “MTV World Presents : BoA Live in New York” at Time Square. As this is a special show dedicated to BoA, it will be held at the TRL(Total Request Live) Studio – a stage all major stars walk through at least once in their career – from 11am to 3pm.

This program will not only feature her live performances but will also present BoA’s history as singer and her current plans and commitments in an interview style. BoA will be performing her new hit song ‘Eat You Up’ as well as a song titled ‘Look Who’s Talking’ which will be included in her first album scheduled to release early next year.

‘BoA Live in New York’ will broadcast across the nation as well as on the massive screen out in Time Square where thousands of pedestrians walk by every day.

The show will broadcast on TV in mid December through MTV, MTV Iggy, and MTV U in the US, Korea, Japan, Austrailia, and the UK.

Biggest Asian Pop Star Tackles US

 It seems that MTV Iggy has been covering BoA’s American debut in different terms, with videos and even a blog written up by BoA herself.

It’s been two months since BoA decided to cross over into the U.S. music scene, and it has been nothing but non-stop work for the pop princess. BoAs Official US Debut – Dec. 3

BoA will officially debut in the United States through a special program.

BoA will have her first official performance in the United States on December 3 at MTV headquarters in New York through the special program “MTV World Presents : BoA Live in New York.”

For the special program “MTV World Presents : BoA Live in New York,” BoA will be recording at MTV headquarters of MTV TRL (Total Request Live) studios on December 3 starting at 11am and will continue on for about 3 hours.

On this program, not only will we see BoA’s live performance and her music world, but also know about what she’s doing now and plans to do in the United States, and speak directly especially in a question and answer session in the studio with fans.

Especially on this special program, BoA is scheduled to unveil the first performance of “Look who’s talking” from her first album. It will be shown on the large screen in the heart of New York in Times Square, and a hot reaction is expected.

“MTV World Presents : BoA Live in New York” will be broadcasted on MTV, MTV’s music network MTV Iggy, and MTV U in December, and also on MTV Korea, Japan, ASIA, Australia, U.K, and International.

Meanwhile, BoA’s U.S. debut song “Eat You Up” was introduced for the first time to the world and netizens through “YouTube Live” on November 23.

Super Junior Marry U Tops Oricon Daily Charts

They got 9th on the day of its release. on the second day they got 16th.

For their Rukkugo album they got up 2nd on oricon charts.

It’s not as high as their previous releases in Japan, but being in the top 20, made the fans proud of them.

Super Junior Concert Sold Out In 14 Minutes

Idol group Super Junior recently received great news. Their encore concert was sold out in just 14 minutes since the tickets went on sale and their latest singled rose to ninth place in Japan’s Oricon daily single chart.

Super Junior’s agency, SM Entertainment, announced Thursday that the online ticket sale of the encore performance of the group’s first Asian tour was completed in just 14 minutes. Their first solo concert was held in February of this year and it was a raging success as the members showed off their colorful personalities and rarely seen performances. Super Junior’s “The 1st Asia Tour-Super Show Encore” will be held in the Olympic Park in Seoul for two days from January 3rd to 4th.

The group’s special single “Marry U” was released Wednesday to rise to 9th place on Japan’s most prestigious Oricon daily single chart. Through their agent Super Junior members thanked their fans for supporting them and promised that they will do their best to measure up to the fans’ high expectations.

Big Bang Brings 36 KRW

YG Entertainment revealed recently that Big Bang has brought a total of 36 billion KRW of revenue in year 2008.

In 2008 itself, Big Bang has been busy with albums release, concerts, CF, merchandizing sales etc and they had all brought in about 20 thousand million KRW of revenue. All these together with their online sales adds up to 36 billion KRW.

From these, the revenue from their concert were the highest. With 2 concert performances in Japan, 1 concert performance in Thailand and 3-months concert tour in Korea, they had all add up to 5 billion KRW.

The 2nd major source of their revenue is their product endorsement and album sales. They released a total of 6 albums/singles and 8 CFs which totaled up to 4 billion KRW. The 8 CF were their endorsement for FILA, Baskin Robbin’s, Skoolooks, LG CYON, NII etc.

And for their albums/singles released, they began with the release of their 1st Japanese single ‘How Gee’ in January, and subsequently released 1 live album, and several minialbums and official albums which achieved 470,000 copies in album sales, according to HanTeo Chart.

500,000 album sales copies will be expected by this year-end. And with average selling price of 8 thousand KRW each, they are expected to bring in 0.4 billion KRW in revenue.

Big Bang’s songs and member’s solo songs released online are also said to reached about 4 billion won. Even though there is still no exact final sum for revenue from this category, YG representative said looking from current situation from their mobile phone bell ringtones and mobile phone music download record, it is said to be able to bring in over 4 thousand million KRW in revenue.

Their online album sales brings in about 25% of the annual revenue, totalling up to about 16 billion KRW.

And also, with their every public performance, their merchandize sales also brought in about 0.3∼0.4 billion KRW and for their merchandize sales on YG I-Shop, it is said to have achieved about 2 billion KRW in sales. Other than that, an additional of 1 billion KRW was brought with the related sales when they attend certain events in 2008.

Big Bang has also indirectly triggered economic effect during this year. The clothes that they donned for performance on stage has also brought in sales for boutiques selling them in DongDaeMun. And of the group, member GDragon who also does producing for the group has also brought in revenue in terms of copyright terms for their production.

YG Entertainment said, “Big Bang is not only know for their music but also for their fashion. Their fashion influence those in their teens while their music attracts those in their 20s and 30s, they have a wider consumer market as compared to other groups around.”

2pm Perform On Japanese Show

Newcomer group 2PM had their first performance on Japanese TV programme with SG Wannabe on ‘Mnet Japan ‘KPOP Zone’ on 27th November, and feeling their popularity there.

Mnet Japan introduces music and drama from Korea to Japanese fans in Japan. And ‘K-Pop Zone’ is one section of the programme that introduces popular singers from Korea to fans in Japan.

2PM was in Japan Osaka performance hall performing their 1st album title song ‘10 points out of 10′ and ‘Only You’ in front of about 2000 fans for ‘K-Pop Zone’ that day. The members also peformed rap and dance for the programme and especially for member JunSu’s solo performance of ‘눈의 꽃 (Snow Flower)’ has received overwhelming response from fans.

2PM said “We are very excited about performing in Japan and meeting our fans there for the first time. And it is amazing and we are very thankful that they followed with our singing and dancing. The time spent with them were so short it was a shame.”

Yoobin To Do Aeriobics In Sitcom

Following the news about Yoo Bin’s cameo in MBC sitcom That Person Is Coming last night, more has been revealed about her role. Yoo Bin will be doing aerobics with the Wonder Girls Nobody song playing in the sitcom.

According to a staff working on the set at MBC Dream Center, “Yoo Bin will be doing aerobics with the Wonder Girls Nobody song playing in the sitcom. Her character will be the body double/replacement of Lee Young Hee (Seo Young Hee) for a television aerobics program (my guess is JunJin is the PD). Filming will be done on the 1st of next month with Yoo Bin accepting the invitation to appear on the sitcom despite the Wonder Girls busy schedule.”

Yoo Bin will be the second Wonder Girl to appear on the sitcom. So Hee was on the sitcom earlier as the first love of Jung Jae Yong called Mal Hee.

SS501 Make T-Shirts To Stop Illegal Downloading

5 member male group SS501’s special unit ‘Triple S’ Heo YoungSaeng, Kim KyuJong, Kim HyungJoon personally designed t-shirts putting into action, their love for music.

Besides FT Island, Triple S has been chosen as the 2nd ‘Stop Illegal Download Project’ to give a head start in promoting regular download culture.

‘Stop Illegal Download Project’ is an event that is participated by singers and fans, whereby fans who download music through regular means (not illegally) will stand a chance to purchase the item that is personally designed by the singer at cost price.

The 3 members receive a mission of ‘Let’s make a t-shirt that has your own style’ and personally pick a t-shirt color, sketch a suitable design, place the logo, etc, concentrating on the making of it.

Triple S member Kim HyungJoon revealed his after thoughts about his participation “I think I will be very happy and thankful if fans were to wear the t-shirt that I’ve drawn and made myself. Especially when this event is to help save our music industry, to stop the illegal distribution of music, and to be able to participate in this event makes it even more meaningful.”

Triple S will give out 10 personally designed t-shirt respectively, free to their fanclub directly during Mnet “M!Countdown” broadcast on the 27th at Seoul DeungChon-Dong 88 Stadium.
